Collette Hurst creates works in many media including watercolor, pastels, prismacolors, photography, and textiles. She draws inspiration for her work from travels and residential stays in many diverse locales including urban, country, and wilderness areas. Presently a Litchfield, Connecticut resident, she enjoys plein air painting in the Farmington River and Berkshire Foothills environments. She presents workshops for Litchfield Hills Continuing Education and private studio classes.
Collette is a member of the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council and organizes events promoting interaction of artists, writers, and musicians.
Also a vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter, Collette performs with her quintet in Litchfield County, Connecticut venues. She has written, arranged, and recorded two albums of songs and is currently also working on songwriting and poetry projects.
